Terms of Service
SMSF Core Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 697 503 352) ("SMSF Core", "we", "us", "our")
Last updated: 9 July 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of SMSF Core, an online information tool for self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) trustees, operated by SMSF Core Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 697 503 352). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who can use SMSF Core
You may use SMSF Core if you are at least 18 years old and can form a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for keeping your account secure. The service is intended for use in connection with Australian SMSFs.
3. What SMSF Core is — information tool, not financial advice
SMSF Core is an information and calculation tool. It is not a licensed financial service and does not provide financial product advice, tax advice, or legal advice.
- SMSF Core does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and does not purport to.
- The service performs calculations (for example, franking-credit and 45-day holding-period calculations) on the data you provide, and surfaces information and references to ATO source material. It does not recommend whether you should buy, sell, hold, or deal in any financial product, and it does not tell you what is appropriate for your circumstances.
- Any output is general information based on your inputs. It is not a recommendation, a guarantee, or a statement of what your tax or financial outcome will be.
- You and your professional advisers remain responsible for your decisions. You should obtain advice from a licensed financial adviser, registered tax agent, or qualified accountant before acting, and your SMSF's auditor remains responsible for verifying your fund's position.
4. Accuracy and reliance
We work to base calculations on current ATO rules and legislation, but:
- tax law and ATO guidance change, and there may be errors, omissions, or delays in reflecting changes;
- calculations depend entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the data you provide;
- you must not rely on SMSF Core as your sole basis for any financial, tax, or compliance decision.
You are responsible for checking outputs against your own records and your advisers' guidance.
5. Your account
Sign-in is by passwordless "magic link" to your email. You are responsible for the security of your email account and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@smsfcore.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
6. Your data
You retain ownership of the data you upload or enter. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the service to you. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Your data is stored in Australia (Supabase Sydney region).
7. Subscriptions, billing, and pricing
- SMSF Core is offered on paid subscription plans (monthly and annual). Current prices are shown on our pricing page.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal.
- We may change prices for future billing periods; we will give reasonable notice and changes will not apply to a period you have already paid for.
- Cancellation and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse or attempt to disrupt the service; reverse-engineer or copy it; upload unlawful content or data you have no right to use; use the service to breach any law; or use automated means to extract data beyond normal use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, update features, or modify the service. We are not liable for unavailability outside our reasonable control.
10. Intellectual property
SMSF Core, including its software, design, and content (excluding your data and third-party material such as ATO source text), is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse it except as allowed by these Terms or by law.
11. Liability
- Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- To the extent permitted by law, SMSF Core is provided "as is", and we exclude implied warranties not required by law.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from: your reliance on outputs; errors in data you provided; tax, financial, or compliance decisions you or your advisers make; or indirect or consequential loss.
- Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to (at our option) re-supplying the service or refunding the fees you paid for the relevant period.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service and cancel at any time (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or where required by law. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data handling on termination is described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the courts of New South Wales.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and change the "Last updated" date; material changes will be notified where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
